Rathika Ramasamy, born in Venkatachalapuram near Theni, Tamil Nadu, is a pioneering Indian wildlife photographer renowned for her expertise in bird photography. With a background in computer engineering and an MBA, she transitioned from a career in software engineering to full-time wildlife photography after a transformative visit to Keoladeo National Park in 2003.
Over her 21-year career, Rathika has traveled extensively across India's national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, as well as reserves in Africa, capturing the beauty of wildlife through her lens. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international publications and exhibitions. She is a Nikon Professional Member (NPS) and regularly conducts wildlife photography workshops and masterclasses to nurture new talent.
In 2005, Rathika participated in the "Clean Ganga Campaign," exhibiting her work at the India International Centre in New Delhi. She was selected as one of the top bird photographers in India by 'Birds of India' in 2008. She is also a founding member of the RR Foundation for Wildlife Conservation (RRFWC).
Through her photography, Rathika aims to connect people with nature and promote conservation. She believes that every photograph brings her one step closer to Mother Nature
